HSRA LA is a project-based, public charter school that operates within and around a professional recording studio. Students earn time in the studio by completing academic projects in the core learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. HSRA LA encourages students who may have dropped out or been pushed out from traditional schools to complete their diplomas through a love of music and the music business.

In California charter schools are tuition free independent public schools that are open to, and welcome all students no matter ability or need, and are governed and operated jointly by licensed teachers, parents and community members.

HSRA LA provides state-of-the-art music production facilities to our students. Our school has one recording studio and one pre-production area with five stations.

HSRA LA offers its students the opportunity to gain real world experiences through a number of student enterprises, equipping them with 21st century skills necessary in a competitive job market.
